Fragrant and sweet, glazed pears make a wonderful light dessert. Serving the warm pears with vanilla ice cream on the side , make it a wonderful treat
Ingredients
11/2 tbsp butter
2 firm pears, peeled, cored, and cut in quarters
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp zest and juice from 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp anise seed crushed
1/2 tsp allspice crushed
1/2 tsp coriander seeds crushed
Method
Preheat oven to 204° C Gas 6
1) melt butter and pour into a shallow baking dish, toss the pears, turning to coat
2) mix sugar lemon rind , lemon juice and spices together, pour over the pears, mix again
3) bake for 5 minutes, baste with pan juice
4) sprinkle with the brown sugar, bake for another 7 minutes until sugar is bubbly
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
