This hearthy dish is sure to please everyone in the family
Ingredients
3/4 cup sour cream
3 tbsp flour
3 tbsp water
1/2 cup onion chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp cooking oil
1 lb sirloin steak cut in thin strips
13/4 beef stock (hot)
1/4 cup sherry
11/4 tsp dried basil
11/4 tsp dried marjoram
1/2 cup fresh or canned mushrooms
salt and pepper to taste
Method
1) combine the sour cream, flour and water mixing thoroughly, set aside
2) in a pan over medium heat , sauté the onion and garlic in butter, until soft, remove and set aside
2) add the oil and fry the sliced meat strips until browned, stir in stock , sherry, basil and marjoram, scraping up the browned bits from the pan, bring to the boil and add the onion and garlic mixture
3) add about 1/4 cup of the hot stock to the sour cream and stir to mix
4) turn heat to low under the pan, then add gradually the sour cream mixture, while stirring
5) simmer covered until thicken, about 5 minutes.
